“At its April 9, 2022, meeting, the NBRC Board of Trustees voted to make a significant change to the examination system for the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials which will be implemented in January 2027. The NBRC is transitioning to a single examination to further minimize barriers to graduates as they enter the profession while maintaining the standards of excellence associated with the CRT and RRT credentials. As you may recall, the Board of Trustees made an important transition in 2015 by removing the second multiple-choice examination that candidates had to take to earn the RRT credential, so this is a continuation of those efforts.”

The West Virginia Society for Respiratory Care is offering a maximum of four $150 scholarships to eligible students. To be eligible you must be in your last year of a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program in West Virginia listed below. There will be one winner from each of the four WV-based schools. In the event not all schools have representation we will divide $600 equally among the winners.
